To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have temporarily changed how we are serving our community. Normal operations, including membership activities and most programs, are temporarily suspended. Our Kroc Center team continues to support emergency disaster services by feeding homeless individuals, providing nutritious meals to our youth, distributing grocery bags through our pantry, offering virtual programming and serving as a Community Hub for our children.

Schedule to be determined by student's schedules.

Study Hall Instructors Jessica & Tiffany Are you stressed out, concern, or worried that your child might be behind, not completing assignments or just need extra help? No worries! Kroc Staff are here to help you and your family!  We will offer individual and/or peer group support on homework and online course work via Zoom. We will try our best to keep in contact with your teachers, your child, and you (parent(s)) so we are all on the same page to help your child succeed academically. Music Instructor Isaac 2nd to 3rd graders will have the chance to learn how to play a Recorder! You might be wondering what is a recorder or why should my child play an annoying wood instrument? Well, did you know a recorder is part of the flute family? The recorder was actually the original flute! The recorder is a simple instrument for your child to learn and develop how to play and read simple musical notes by only utilizing their fingers and mouth. This will ultimately set your child for success to play other musical instruments in the future. 4th to 6th graders will learn how to play the piano! If your child already has a piano sitting at home, please join us! By the time Christmas comes, you will have front row seats to your child’s musical play in the comfort of your own home!
Kroc Fitness Instructors: Jessica & Tiffany "Exercise your mind and body!" Kroc Fitness will focus on all types of physical activities. Anywhere from simple to challenging stretches, yoga, mindfulness breathing exercises, goofy and fun dances to mini bootcamp. Fitness Kroc will be a fun class to exercise your child’s mind and body especially since they will be online for school most of the day already. It’s FREE! Parents if you find it fun, feel free to join us as well. Art: Sketch & Mindfulness Instructors Jessica & Tiffany Join us through Zoom for a relaxing day of coloring, sketching, and listening to peaceful calm music. After a long day of working their brains with English, math, science, and history – we’re going to unwind. What a better way to unwind than doing something calm and peaceful? Art. While you are off preparing for dinner, we’ll keep your kids entertained and mellow by teaching them how to draw. Your child does not need to be an artist, it’s just a fun class to not think and talk to their peers about what they learn today, or talk about their favorite tv show, or what they did over the weekend. It’s a space for them to keep their emotions in check while freely interacting with their peers about their daily lives.
Book Club & Writing Instructors Jessica & Tiffany “Today a reader. Tomorrow a leader!” Do your kids really read for 20-30 minutes in a day? Is it hard to get your kids to read? Whelp, no fear, Kroc enjoys hosting book clubs! It was a hit over the summer and we want to bring it back. Kroc will provide chapter books! Book club (2nd – 3rd graders) will be reading “Magic Tree House #1” by Mary Pope. As for the 4th – 6th graders they will read “Out of My Mind” by Sharon Draper. We will read together, discuss what is happening, and ask challenging questions to see if they can comprehend the meaning behind what they read. Sometimes we’ll take a break from reading and we’ll ask a simple, fun question for your child to think about and just write what is on their mind. There is no right or wrong answer, but it will make them a better writer by the time they reach high school. Kids Kulture Discussion Instructors Jessica & Tiffany Did you know your kids are Generation Alpha? Our kids are our future leaders. Every child born in the 2000’s are aware of the technology around them. There are so many! Constantly there are new slang words being created and spread around the world. Remember when “lol” was a thing? Who knew it meant “laughing out loud” and till this day it’s widely use when chatting through the virtual world. This group is to dive into the your kids’ culture to learn from them but to also teach them what is happening around the world and most importantly the different cultures we have within our community.
